Edit a restricted word

A system administrator can edit a restricted word to change the suggested replacement text or change the type from warning to error or vice versa. You can also set an end date for a restricted word to make it inactive after that date.

1. On the Home screen, click Settings and then click System. You can also click on any other screen and select System under Settings.

2. Click the Narrative Controls tab.

   The Restricted Words screen appears.

3. Find the restricted word to edit in the list. Only active restricted words can be edited.

   Tip: You can filter or sort the list to find your restricted word. See Work with item lists.

4. Click next to the restricted word.

   The Restricted Word Maintenance screen appears with the restricted word information populated.

5. Make any changes.

   Note: The Restricted Word itself, the level setting, and the Message cannot be changed. The Start Date and End Date can only be changed if they are currently set to a day in the future.

6. Click Save.
7. Close the Restricted Word Maintenance screen when you finish.
