Edit a character length limit

A system administrator can edit a character length to adjust the character limit for narratives or change the type from warning to error or vice versa. You can also set an end date for a character length limit to make it inactive after that date.

1. On the Home screen, click Settings and then click System. You can also click on any other screen and select System under Settings.

2. Click the Narrative Controls tab and the click the Character Length subtab.

   The Character Length screen appears.

3. Find the character limit to edit in the list. Only active character limits can be edited.

   Tip: You can filter or sort the list to find your character limit. See Work with item lists.

4. Click next to the character limit.

   The Character Length Maintenance screen appears with the character limit information populated.

5. Make any changes.

   Note: The level setting and Message cannot be changed. The Start Date and End Date can only be changed if they are currently set to a day in the future.

6. Click Save.
7. Close the Character Length Maintenance screen when you finish.
